I'm sitting in my room in an empty house & can't stop playing this song by Tim Hughes. I just can't work out how people can write these words and believe it totally and all the time and do they think this all the time?? "When the tears fall, I will praise you. Through the suffering still I will sing" It's like Blessed be Your Name how did Matt Redman write that song when he was going through so much rubbish?? Am I the only person that gets mad at God when things go wrong or is it just people that know how to write songs who are always happy and praising??? Maybe if I could write songs I'd never feel angry or sad.....

Hmm, I think the song is more about choice and acts of will than about feelings Jude. The song doesn't suggest that the he feels happy all the time, just that he chooses to praise God in spite of how he feels simply because it is the right thing to do. A bit like Job! God is bigger than our feelings. Sounds good - but its hard to do, and I bet the writers would testify to that too.
I hear you are coming home especially to sing our favourite song this weekend!??!?!?! Yay!
yea I thought that was the only sensible thing I could do this week, couldn't leave you by urself u'd have no1 to cry with lol!
You see, Judith, coming home to sing that "wonderful" song is like praising God in spite of how you feel about it!!!! A bit like those song writers, praising God when they don't feel like it, because it's the right thing to do!!
